Benefits of Arts and Crafts >
Developed Fine Motor Skills: Most arts and crafts projects involve moving the hands and fingers. These movements allow children to improve their overall muscle strength and control over small movements with continual application. This allows children’s motor skills to gradually increase as the activities get more complex…
Increased Dexterity: Arts and crafts increase agility in kids and with practice, manual dexterity will improve over time. With regular practice, the child will gain speed, and as their finer skills improve, their artistic skills will as well.
Improved Hand-Eye Coordination: Arts and crafts often require keen hand-eye coordination. Starting at an early age will only improve this skill because the more children practice, the better their hand-eye coordination will get. And, we hope these skills will translate to other facets of life (sports, etc).
Boosted Self-Esteem and Self-Expression: Arts and crafts activities create a strong sense of self and sense of achievement, giving kids a boost to their self-esteem. Showing kids multiple ways to create something allows them to be in control, building immense confidence and creating a space for them to forge their own path. Additionally, arts and crafts allow children to channel any extra feelings, emotions, and energy into their art, creating a positive outlet for them to authentically express themselves.
Accelerated Socialization: Arts and crafts not only allows kids to learn to express themselves internally, but it can also help them express their external feelings. Additionally, interacting with other children who have similar interests give children the opportunity to socialize and build strong bonds.
